We are proud to say that we were the first private sector company to receive the prestigious status of Innovation Voucher Knowledge Provider from Business Link Yorkshire. As a business Fripp Design and Research's number one priority is on research and innovation. For example, Fripp Design and Research recently helped Sheffield University secure £510K of grant funding to work with us in innovating a new way to rapid manufacture soft tissue prostheses.

Why Innovation Vouchers?

Innovation Vouchers are part of the government's Solutions for Business Portfolio. In the Yorkshire and Humber Region, Innovation Vouchers are managed by Business Link Yorkshire. As the Business Link Yorkshire web site states; "Innovation can take on many different forms. It could mean selling an existing product or service into a new market, or finding easier and cheaper ways of doing things or adding additional attributes or benefits to your existing product and service offerings.  An innovation project should add value to your business, helping to keep you ahead of the competition and improve your main concern - bottom line profitability".

What is the Value of an Innovation Voucher?

In the Yorkshire and Humber region, there are two Voucher Schemes, one is fully funded to the value of £3000 (excluding VAT), the other up to £7,000 (excluding VAT), 50/50 matched funded i.e. a total project value of £14,000 (excluding VAT).

In the North East, you would need to speak to Business Link in the North East as their scheme is tailored to the clients specific needs.

How Can The Vouchers Be Used?

"The voucher can be used to purchase an academic or private sector supplier's expertise to help deliver a knowledge solution to an innovation project. This expertise will come from approved suppliers in the knowledge base institutions within the region, including universities, further education colleges and research and technology organisations" such as Fripp Design and Research.
